MSF Level 2 info
Hooked On Driving is widely known to have one of the most-rigorous, thorough, and complete curriculums for MSF Level 2 Certification! HOD is on the MSF Council, meaning we help shape the curriciulum and minimum requirements for all MSF standards.
HOD also has a unique system that allows coaches to waork toward certification after the class if they are not certified at the end of the class (and not needing to pay for an additional class) -
This will be a full day of classes and roleplays on track, a hotel the night before is recommended.
Level 2 training is a hands-on, in-depth program that occurs at and on the track. It includes classroom instruction and on-track mentoring rides and puts HPDE Instructors in a position to become right-seat-qualified and MSF-CERTIFIED.
After you complete the class you will have one of 3 outcomes:
1. You pass all requirements of the class AND have all pre-requisites and are certified as Level 2
2. You either do not meet all the pre-requisites, or we think some work in specific areas is needed to be certified. If this is the case, we will give you feedback on the areas to work for and you will become an HOD-certified coach for a specific number of future events, upon which we will re-assess and add certification if warranted (no additional MSF class needed!)
3. You do not pass the class. In this case we will give very specific feedback on what is needed so you can become certified in the future. You will need to work on this and take the class again (and pass) to obtain certification.
FAQs
1. WHAT IS THE CERTIFIED PROGRAM?
The CERTIFIED program is a nationally recognized, independent certification program similar to the PADI program for open water diving. It establishes a path of continuing education and provides a formal record of achievement for your efforts as an HPDE Instructor. The program is defined by established levels of achievement with each level building upon the next to allow progression through the ranks of the HPDE instructor community.
2. What's different about this from Level 1 or from NASA/BMW CCA/PCA certification?
MSF is a standardized national certification, meaning that there are specific concepts taught in the classes are the same regardless of where the class is taken and who puts it on. Additionaly, all the class curriculums are reviewed and signed-off on by the MSF. The Event Organizer achieves this by meeting the minimum standards for training as established by MSF. The CERTIFIED Event Organizer then puts on Level 2 instructor clinics, and at these events the Event Organizer grants Level 2 certification to the participants who meet or exceed the standards in their training program. The Organizer provides this list to MSF and they then provide a link to the Event on Motorsport Reg to the Instructor. Event Organizer-led Level 2 training is a hands-on, in-depth program that occurs at and on the track. It includes classroom instruction and on-track mentoring rides and puts HPDE Instructors in a position to become right-seat-qualified and MSF-CERTIFIED.
